The concept of a blog is fairly simple, however maintaining and monetizing a blog can be much more difficult. There are so many decisions to make and sometimes seems overwhelming at first. I remember starting my first blog and how excited I was. First I setup an account at Wordpress and began writing away. I figured that was it and I was off to the races. Ha! Boy was I ever wrong. I thought I would write these articles (part 1 & 2) to show how I’ve got to this point, with this blog - Build a Blog. I don’t want to completely bore you with the details, but I will cover the information that helped me make my decisions, and effected the direction my blogs took.

To be honest, when you are new in the blogosphere, you tend to get a little lost and do those bad habits which are never taught to tell you to avoid from. There are surely many ways of introducing your blog to other bloggers, the best way so far is thru social networking, either by social communities or social tagging.

At present, there are numerous popular blog sites on the Internet. If you wish to go up to the ranks of highly successful bloggers, you need to start viewing it on a more serious light. For starters, take these 4 reliable steps to increase your blogging.

1. Polish your writing ability. In blogging, it is essential to have good writing skills. People will basically assess your blog site based on the entries you have posted. If you are poor at writing and commit quite a number of grammatical errors, there is a big chance that visitors will not linger that long.
