Choosing the Nature or Focus of Your New Ezine!
When deciding upon a topic to focus your free newsletter on, you must consider important factors that can determine the flow and goal of your ezine. It is likely that you will write about topics for your free newsletter that your website focus’s on, which is logical.
So, as an example, lets say your website focuses around the health Care Industry and that your main topic of interest is a pinpoint niche product or service popular in the Health Care field. This makes your decision of what to focus your free newsletter on quite easy. However; if you are just starting your publishing empire, then it may not be as easy for you as it was for the above. So let’s just hit on some generalities you need to consider before you jump in with both feet.
Choosing a niche in which to publish your free newsletter is much like choosing a niche to establish your websites around. So the thought here is to knock out two birds with one stone: conduct a broad keyword search for a niche marketing topic of your choice (Health Care, Financial, Business etc.) and review all of the selections on the 1st 2 or 3 search engine results pages (SERP’s). From these results you will be able to drill down to a specific niche using keyword research readily available on the Internet. Once you select a niche market for your free newsletter that you feel comfortable in, then you can start to develop your free newsletter content around your niche. You do not have to establish a website around your niche: your primary objective here is to build a large following of new subscribers to your free newsletter.
Where do I get my Content From?
Okay, now that you have selected a niche market you are familiar with or either very comfortable with it is important that you determine from where the content for your free newsletter will come from. Most free newsletters are published on a regular basis, usually once a week or once a month. Some free newsletters are even published every day, so you can imagine how much of a challenge it is for them to come up with new fresh meaningful content every day. Content is going to play the most important role in how successful your free newsletter will be. You’re not going to retain membership to your newsletter or create loyalty unless you are providing your members something of interest on a continuing basis. A couple of ways to establish interesting and grabber content for your free newsletter is:
1. One way is to write all of the content yourself. Of course, as you can imagine, this is the most time consuming, but by writing all of the content yourself, you will be able to allow your personality to influence how your information is delivered. By filtering in bits and pieces about your personality, it will make you become more believable and more human to your readers, which goes a long way when it comes to establishing a loyal subscriber base.
2. You can also choose to utilize the works of other webmasters as content for your free newsletter. How, article marketing is a primary method that is successful for a great many authors. The process is relatively simple. You are probably aware of Article Directories? A person decides to write an article on the very topic your free newsletter focus’s on. In order to allow other people to read and also utilize the article as content for their website or free newsletter, they will submit their article to Article Directories.
An Article Directory is a repository or large data base website that allows authors from many different diciplines to place their article there for distribution. They will write an article and submit it to as many article directory sites as possible: the more the better. From the article directory sites, you can download and use the articles that cater to your subscriber base as long as you keep the author’s Resource box in tact with the link pointing back to their site. 3. And thirdly, you can obtain the rights to Private Label Articles that are found all over the Internet. The process here is to obtain rights through PLR Article sites or other resources and use those articles that focus on your niche to fabricate new articles that will fit into your content planning. It is highly recommended that you never take a PLR Article and publish it to your newsletter without first making numerous additions and changes to the article. The key is to make enough changes so the search engines will not see your article as being the same content as another.
Remember, there are other people who also have the same article and have published it without making any changes to it, to their website as well as to multiple Article Directories. Consequently, when enough people publish the same article to the Internet the search engine algorithums will determine that the content is being duplicated and will either dismiss the site for having duplicate content or remove their website from their index. The only way to avoid this is to change at least 30 to 40 percent of the article so you can claim it as your very own. One of the more important things to change is the title of the article as the title is the first thing the search engines see when the spider crawls your site. With all of these changes made, you should be safe in submitting your new article to Article Directories and to your subscriber base as new content.
